The Devil's Folly Haunted Barn FAQ

Q: Is it scary?
A: Our haunted houses are where your most frightening dreams become reality. As soon as you enter the front door, you will be transported into a realm of terror - a dark twisting maze through rooms populated with creatures from your worst nightmares. Your only goal will be to elude the predators who stalk you through the darkness - to be a survivor, not a victim, of the haunted barn.

Q: But is it really scary?
A: Hey, fear is relative. We do our part by providing hands down the scariest haunted attraction in Eastern PA. Of course everyone has their own particular fear threshold. The best answer we can give is that 99% of the people who come out the exit are screaming. Our repeat customer rate is very high. Conclusion: being scared is fun? You've got adrenal glands, you be the judge.

Q: Where can I get a coupon?
A: We have a list of local businesses and schools that may have them on our ticket info page.

Q: I purchased online tickets. Can I skip the line?
A: Only if you purchased the VIP tickets.

Q: If I'm in line at closing time, will I still get in?
A: Unfortunately we have to close around 11pm, so please either come early in the season, come earlier in the night or come again. If you are asked to come back due to long lines you will be given a free ticket for a friend.

Q: The lines are too long! How can I get a better show without standing in line for an hour?
A: This one is very simple actually. Come early. If you come the first few weekends you will miss the crowd and the line and will be able to go into the haunted barn with a very small group of people. This translates into a very personal nightmare.

Q: What is the best time to arrive?
A: We suggest you arrive early. Many people complain about long lines but everyone always shows up around 9pm. Our suggestion is for you to come and buy your ticket around 6:00pm so you are one of the first in line.

Q: Is there a different price for children?
A: Because it is not recommended for small children, there is only one general admission price. The haunt is not recommended for children under 12 without an adult.

Q: Will the monsters touch me?
A: We have a "no touch" policy - you don't touch us, we don't touch you. Unfortunately, due to the very dim lighting inside the haunts, you may occasionally come into accidental contact with one of our staff. Our monsters will not grab or maul you.

Q: Can a pregnant person enter?
A: We do not recommend the haunted barn to anyone who is pregnant.

Q: Can I bring my kids?
A: By all means, bring the whole neighborhood! Again, fear is relative. We've had six-year-olds walk through without a quiver and had to carry out grown men. Children under twelve should be accompanied by an adult. Young children who get to the front door and are too scared to enter will not be forced (not even by their well-meaning parents). We do not recommend our attractions for very young children.

Q: Can I get out if I want to?
A: Yes, there were people that could not make it through our scare. Our opening night had a woman run back out the entrance! We have exits available and will guide you to the safety of your crib!

Q: If I get too scared to make it through the haunted barn, can I get a refund?
A: No. You paid us to scare you. If you get scared in the line or in the first few rooms and want to leave, we've done what you paid us to do very quickly. Be happy with prompt service!

Q: What time does the haunted barn usually open?
A: 6pm sharp!

Q: Do you offer group discounts?
A: Group rates are available for large groups providing the reservation and rate is approved in advance. Phone numbers for our promoters will be posted here closer to October. 2009 has a bus trip from the Iron Horse Inn in Alburtis on October 17th and a bus trip from the Hammerhead Lounge in Northampton on October 24th.

Q: Is there a discount for small children?
A: No. We do not recommend our haunted barn for very young children. If you choose to bring them, they will pay the same price as everyone else. Children who are too young or too scared to enter may wait for their party with the door greeter.

Q: Is it healthy to get scared really bad?
A: Do you see horror movies? Haunted houses are just like the movies except YOU are in the movie with the ghouls jumping out at you. Yes, you will get scared but in the end it's all fun and you'll come out screaming, but you and your friends will laugh about it afterwards. Most everyone enjoys talking about their experience for years telling stories of how high you jumped out of your shoes. Come on down, we're waiting.

Q: Are you handicap accessible?
A: Yes. We have patrons in wheelchairs visit us every year. Anyone wanting to tour the attractions with a handicap needs to let the ticket booth know for any special instructions. A staff member will accompany your group to assist you if you need it. In order to maintain our high safety standards, we do not recommend taking crutches and other such devices into the building. If you must use them, a staff member will accompany your group.

Q: Are your attractions open if it rains?
A: Absolutely!!!

Q: How long does it take to go through the haunted barn?
A: Depending on your group size, approximately 15 minutes. But there are games and sideshows to enjoy outdoors.

Q: Does your attractions have security?
A: Our attractions have a fully trained security staff that keeps things running smoothly. We also have several Police and Fire personal on duty at all times.

Q: Do you have live rats, roaches, snakes and other critters?
A: Yes, but none of them will be in direct contact with you.

Q: How is your haunted attraction different from others I've seen?
A: Oh...you'll see.

Q: Do you sell food or souvenirs?
A: Yes! We sell everything from glow sticks to food to T-shirts.

Q: Can we take flash photos of your haunted houses?
A: NO! Haunted houses are dark and everyone especially the actors eyes adjust to the low light. When you flash your camera you're not only ruining other customers' experience but your hurting the actors' eyes. Also no other recording devices are allowed (video cameras, etc,...).

Q: Can I hit the actors, take the props, destroy the rooms, or come through the haunt drunk or stoned?
A: You should ask the police on duty this question. Every night (without fail) we have to escort someone (and their group) out of our haunts into the arms of the police. We do not allow foul language, pushing, vulgar behavior, weapons of any kind, alcohol, etc. We have a list of rules just like anyone else that must be adhered to for your own safety Please go through the haunt in a civilized manner and everyone (including yourself) will have a great time.

Q: You didn't answer my question.
